Lois' Story
Her children were 2, 5, 7, 9 & 11 years of age when her husband left. Like most single parents, she struggled with grief, loneliness, depression, anger and overwhelming responsibility. It was a long grueling process of healing and recovery; but God was faithful to His Word every step of the way.
Lois had to make many difficult choices, learn new parenting techniques, get back into the work force and balance a very limited budget. She started out hopeless, but ended up with a new vision!
Lois is now a minister, missionary, writer, and event speaker . . . sharing the hope, joy, peace, power, and promise she found in God’s Word.
Her children have grown into responsible, caring adults and some are parents themselves.
NEW Update: God never stops surprising us! At the beginning of COVID, in the lock-down stage, I began walking my neighborhood with a neighbor. Our walks, talks, and friendship grew over the year of 2020. In June of 2021, after over 30 years of being single, I married this kind and patient man who loves me and encourages my ministry to single moms! My last name for ministry is still Breit, but you will note on my donation page my married name of Perkins. Our journey with God never ends, and He constantly does the unexpected, Ed Perkins was as much of a surprise to me as I was to him. Even when we're not looking, God has a plan!

Bio
Lois has been an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for over 30 years. She has worked as an associate pastor, administrative assistant to a statewide youth director, church planting missionary, and missionary to single moms. She desires to bring hope and vision to single mothers at events along with developing resources to help them on their journey. Lois also presents church leadership with a new vision for ministry to single mothers, and an awareness of this growing demographic in their local community. She supplies training and informational resources to better equip the Church in reaching out to single moms and the next generation.
